Admission Requirements for the English Section
The rules issued by the Supreme Council of Universities, the University Council, and the Faculty Council determine a number of conditions on the basis of which admission to the language section is granted. These conditions are:
- The student must have obtained the General Secondary Certificate (Thanaweya Amma) in the same academic year of admission.
- The student must be accepted into the Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration, in the regular system, through the Coordination Office (Tansik), and in the same year of application (i.e., recent secondary education graduates).
- The student must obtain at least 80% of the final grade in the English language subject, with preference given to graduates from schools where the first foreign language is English.
- Students who hold the English Secondary Certificate (IGCSE) must have obtained at least a grade of (C) in English.
- Students who hold an American High School Diploma must have obtained at least a grade of (C) in English.
- Preference in student admission will be based on the total score determined by the Supreme Council of Universities, which includes the overall General Secondary Certificate score, the English language subject score, and the score of the advanced level English language subject, if applicable.
- Priority for acceptance will be given to students nominated directly to the faculty through the Coordination Office. Students transferring from other universities will only be accepted if there are vacant seats, based on the same criteria and within the remaining capacity from the original phase.
- The Faculty Council issues a decision, approved by the University President, to certify the results of the admission to the language section, thereby making those included in the decision officially accepted into the section.
