Registration and academic degree’s terms Firstly: Registration for postgraduate diploma The student is enrolled in the post graduate diploma if he fulfills the following conditions: 1. To have a bachelor’s degree in commerce from an Egyptian university or an equivalent degree from any other university or scientific institute recognized by the university. 2.To have a bachelor’s degree or a bachelor’s degree from other colleges from any other university or scientific institute recognized by the university based on the proposal of the relevant scientific department council and the accreditation of the college’s council, in which case it is permissible to impose other courses on these students based on the proposal of the council scientific section and approval of the college council. 3.He should have practical experience in the field of diploma in which he applies to study for a period of no less than two years after having the university bachelor degree firstly, provided that this experience is approved by the specialized scientific department council. 4.The duration of the study to obtain any diploma from postgraduate diplomas is two academic years and at least 12 lectures per week. 5.The council of the specialized scientific department determines the maximum number of students who will be admitted to each diploma long before the start of the study, and for a diploma to be held, it is required that at least 7 students accept it. The graduate student is given two chances to take the exam in the academic year. The necessary documents - University qualification certificate. - Birth Certificate. - At least two years' experience certificate. - 4 personal photos. In addition to this the international students forms in case that the student is an international. |
Secondly: Registering for a master’s degree A - Pre-Masters 1. The student is accepted the Pre-Masters study after having a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce in the specialization division with a grade of “Good” at least in the fourth year and “Good” degree at least in the specialization subjects in the final year from one of the Egyptian universities or an equivalent degree from another scientific institute that is recognized by the university or has obtained one of the postgraduate diplomas related to the specialization division with a general grade of “very good” at least preceded by a bachelor’s degree in commerce from an Egyptian university or its equivalent, provided that he pass the exam in the courses that he lacks in accordance with the system decided by the College Council based on the boards of sections of scientific proposals. 2. The student is enrolled in the Pre-Masters study after passing the written and oral admission tests approved by the College Council. 3. The College Council determines the number of students admitted to the Pre-Masters in each discipline in light of the capabilities of the specialized scientific department and based on its proposal. Study in Pre-Masters The Pre-Masters course lasts one year and is required during: - The student must be fully dedicated to the study. - Satisfaction of the attendance rate of 75% in each subject to allow him to take the exam. - The College Council may, upon a proposal from the concerned scientific department, guide the student to study some of the courses that he had not previously studied at the bachelor's level or that he (the college council) sees necessary to prepare him for the pre-masters study. B- Conditions for registration for a master’s degree - The student is required to register for a master’s degree: - The student passes an English proficiency test at the graduate level from the center (ESP) Affiliated with the University. - Student passes at least 15 hours of training course in computers and operating systems from one of the Egyptian universities or one of the specialized higher institutes accepted by the college council. - The student submits the subject of the thesis to the specialized scientific department council to express an opinion related to the subject of the thesis for registration and the student's ability to search on this subject in accordance with the registration rules established by the college council, and to be taken into account when deciding the extent of the validity of the subject for the following registration : - The project addresses one of the problems of the Egyptian society in general and the environment surrounding the university in particular. – Variety of thesis subjects according to the plan laid down by the relevant department council. The relevant department council prepares a report presented to the college council in which it proposes to register the proposal and determines the proposed supervisor (or supervisors) to supervise the thesis and the thesis is registered in the college from the date of accreditation of the University's Graduate Studies and Research Council for registration. The student prepares a research on the subject that has been registered for a period of at least one calendar year and two years by maximum from the date of approval of registration from the University's Graduate Studies and Research Council. The College Council may propose to keep the registration for another year based on the supervisor's report and after taking the opinion of the relevant department council, and that the period of preparing the thesis from the date of the start of registration does not exceed four calendar years. And during this period, stopping periods during the thesis are excluded in case the reasons are beyond the researcher's will, based on the approval of the College Board to the proposal of the department board concerned. The student must be inside the country and in constant contact with the supervisor during the period of preparing the thesis for a period of at least one calendar year. After the student finishes preparing a thesis with the results of his research, the supervisor submits to the department in charge of the thesis of validity of the thesis for discussion, and the department proposes forming a judgment committee on the thesis according to the rules established by the college council. The thesis is publicly discussed and the outcome of the judgment is either: A - Accept the thesis and propose granting the student a master's degree. B - In case that there are deficiencies in the letter, the amendment is requested, and the message is returned to the judgment committee for approval or rejection. The committee may decide to re-discuss the message publicly. - Reject the thesis. |
Third: Registering a PhD degree A - Pre-PhD study - The student must be enrolled in the degree of Doctor of Philosophy, the following: - The student obtains a master’s degree in the specialty branch from a recognized college or institute. - The student passes an English proficiency test from (ESP) center from the University affiliates that qualify him to register for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. - Passing the qualifying courses in each discipline as mentioned in the regulations. - The qualifying study for a PhD degree takes one academic year during which it is required: - The student is required to study full-time. - 75% attendance in each subject is met to allow him to take the exam. - The student passes 5 courses in the specialty distributed as follows: - Four basic courses in the general field of specialization. - One selective course, it should be taken into account in the choice that should be directly related to the specific specialization of the subject of the doctoral thesis, with the approval of the relevant department council. B - Conditions for registration for a PhD degree - The concerned scientific department proposes to register the subject of the thesis based on the proposal of the supervisors of the thesis, and the College Council approves this and the subject is registered from the date of the University’s Graduate Studies and Research Council’s approval of the College Board’s decision.- The student prepares an innovative research on the subject that has been registered for a period of at least two years and four years at the most from the date of approval of the Council of Graduate Studies and Research at the university to register and the College Council, based on the proposal of the department council concerned to keep the registration for another period not exceeding two years based on the supervisor’s report. Any suspension period for registration is not counted according to the approval of the college’s council and the proposal of the relevant scientific department council. - The student shall be inside the country and in constant contact with the supervisor during the period of preparing the thesis for a period of at least two calendar years. - After the student finishes preparing a thesis with the results of his research, the supervisor submits to the department in charge of the thesis of validity of the thesis for discussion, and the department proposes forming a judgment committee on the thesis according to the rules established by the college council. The thesis is publicly discussed and the outcome of the judgment is either: - Accept the thesis and propose granting the student a PhD degree in the field of specialization. - In case that there are deficiencies in the letter, the amendment is requested, and the message is returned to the judgment committee for approval or rejection, and the judgment committee may decide to re-discuss the thesis publicly. A refusal of the thesis, in which case the registration of the subject of the thesis is canceled, in which case the student may apply to register another subject. |
